Kevin Duckworth, a two-time All-Star who was the starting center on the Portland Trail Blazer teams that made it to the 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals, has died of unknown causes. The seven-foot center played in the NBA from 1986-1997.

KPTV Fox 12 in Portland, OR is reporting that former Blazers center Kevin Duckworth has passed away.

Kevin Duckworth is dead. More details to come, but it’sa sad day in Blazer land. He was one of my all-time favorite players to cover for a variety of reasons.

The Bulls did not play great teams, and the list of starting centers they faced shows that: Vlade Divac, Kevin Duckworth, Mark West, Ervin Johnson, and Greg Ostertag

Neither Vancouver nor Toronto elected to draft either Kevin Duckworth or Rex Chapman, both also left unprotected by the Bullets.

Kevin Duckworth and John Williams may have been fat, but fat centers were not unheard of in the NBA. Muggsy Bogues was short, but he could be considered an evolutionary dead end as teams continued to move towards bigger "hybrid" guards.
