Caracas - President Hugo Chávez reported that there are several detainees in the investigation of an alleged assassination plan in which would involve a Vice Admiral of his close circle and accused the U.S. of being behind the plot.
"I called the defense minister (Gustavo Rangel Briceno), I explained and told him immediately and send appropriate laws, initiate an investigation ... obviously there's a conspiracy. We been following this for some time already," he said.
"At this moment we already have several detainees," said the agent during a meeting with supporters in the capital.
In the midst of the act Chavez ordered an immediate chain of radio and television to spread the country recording of an alleged telephone conversation where he talks about the plot but did not provide evidence and blamed the United States of being behind the plot. "That is the imperialism behind," he said.
