Lance Corcoran California argues that the governor failed in its promise to solve the economic problems of the entity
The guards' union Lance Corcoran California, consisting of 30 thousand members, today demanded the dismissal of governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for failing in its pledge to solve the economic problems of the state.
"For the sake of the taxpayers of California and the future of our state, it is time that (Schwarzenegger) is going," said union spokesman Lance Corcoran said in a statement.
The guards accuse Schwarzenegger of failing in their attempt to balance the state budget, which this year recorded a deficit of more than 14 billion dollars.
They criticised the governor's threat to release thousands of prisoners potentially dangerous with the idea of saving public expenditure.
The jailers proposed conducting a referendum they hope to join other unions in the past have had conflicts such as teachers, firefighters, nurses and policemen.
The guards argued points very similar to those used Schwarzenegger in 2003 to carry referendum and dismiss the former California governor Gray Davis.
Lance Corcoran said that Schwaerzenegger "has betrayed the trust of our members, failed to public safety, has broken its promises to taxpayers of California, and his leadership is a vacuum" in the state.
He noted that the governor promised to solve economic problems of California, Balac deficit and never allow increases in taxes, in addition to commit to increase public safety in the state.
"Instead, their clerical errors and lack of leadership threatened to release thousands of dangerous prisoners, including paedophiles and sexual abusers (who would be in) the streets unsupervised" official "said the spokesman.
The union association of Correctional Officers of the Order of California argues that mismanagement of the governor "put at risk other vital services" in addition to public safety.
