McCain said he was " very proud " of his companion formula Palin
The Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, John McCain, said on Tuesday that it is "very proud" of Sarah Palin, in his first defense clear the governor of Alaska, who chose as companion formula, after the scandal erupted in about aspects of his private life.

"I want to tell you how happy I am to have Sarah Palin, the great governor of Alaska, as a companion formula," McCain said at an election meeting in Ohio (north).

"I'm very, very proud of the impression that it caused the entire United States and I am eager to work with it," added the senator for Arizona.

Previously, when he was campaigning in Pennsylvania (east), McCain had assured that the process of selecting his partner formula had been conducted "thoroughly" and was "satisfied" with the result.

Palin should speak on Wednesday evening in front of the Republican convention, gathered in Saint Paul (Minnesota, North).

By choosing a woman of 44 years, governor for just two years before and female mayors of a small town of 9,000 inhabitants, McCain showed an undeniable boldness. But some Republicans are beginning to wonder if it has not been a little reckless.

Sarah Palin acknowledged on Monday that his youngest daughter, aged 17 and unmarried, was pregnant. Members of McCain's campaign indicated further that Palin's husband had been arrested some 20 years ago for driving drunk.

Several media reported that Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party, claiming the secession of a U.S. state, for at least two years in the early 1990.

Sources of McCain's campaign on Tuesday indicated to AFP that "a team of communicators" special envoy left for Alaska to assist in disseminating information about the case.

Palin also is suspected of having wrongfully dismissed a charge of the local police because, according to the indictment, he would have refused to dismiss a police officer, former brother-in-law Sarah Palin, who was in the middle of stormy divorce with the sister of the governor.

But the candidate says not acted illegally and announced on Monday that it had hired a lawyer to defend it in this case.
