Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa visited today to passengers who were injured in the Metrolink crash and are hospitalized at Providence Medical Center in Mission Hills.
That the mayor thanked doctors and nurses of that trauma center for the attention they have given to patients as well as firefighters and policemen who attended the emergency.
"I'm proud of the whole community has been united in this tragedy," said Villaraigosa to set the example of a child 'boy scout' who came to the scene of the accident minutes after the impact to help the victims.
The Providence Hospital received 17 injured in the accident Friday afternoon, but only 14 remain, of which 6 are in critical condition.
Kathy Longawa, a student at USC is one of the patients who recover from the blows received in the accident.
The mother, Shary Phoenix, said feel fortunate because her daughter survived the accident and is recovering. He said that his daughter not to recall the moment of impact that was already unconscious.
