ned Yost Brewers fired their manager Ned Yost

ned Yost Brewers fired their manager Ned Yost
The Milwaukee Brewers on Monday fired his manager Ned Yost, in the midst of a bad streak in the final stretch of the season which has put in check the aspirations of the team classified the playoffs for the first time since 1982.

The third base coach Dale Sveum will pilot the interim until the end of the regular campaign.

The Brewers share first place in the wild card of the National League along with Filis of Philadelphia.

With a record of 83-67, the Brewers have just 12 games to recover.

Milwaukee entered the month with an advantage of 5 1 / 2 games in the competition for the wild card, but have since lost 11 of 14, an equipment swept in four games by Filis the weekend.

The Brewers rested on Monday and on Tuesday began a series of three matches with the leaders of the central division, the Chicago Cubs.

"This has been a very difficult decision to make, and we appreciate all the work that Ned has done for this team to become contender," said general manager Doug Melvin. "At the end it was a mutual decision made to take the club into the best condition possible for the two weeks remaining in the season."

Milwaukee tries to avoid at all costs a repeat of its collapse last year. The Brewers led the National Center for eight and a half games in late June, but finished with 83-79 mark and were left out of the playoffs.

The Brewers, betting seriously to the postseason, gave a big blow when the July 7 became the star pitcher CC Sabathié Cleveland.

Sabathié, Cy Young last of the American League, boasts of foja 9-0 in 13 outings and six complete games and 1.59 of effectiveness.

Yost was in his sixth year as a pilot Brewers. When he was hired after the 2002 campaign, the franchise was carrying four seasons followed with 94 or more defeats.

But the following campaign culminated with records of 81-81, 75-87 and 83-79, a marked improvement for a club since 1992 not completed one year with positive balance.

Formula 1 - Italian Grand Prix, Monza / Carrera / Toro Rosso / Sebastian Vettel "P1"

Formula 1 - Italian Grand Prix, Monza / Carrera / Toro Rosso / Sebastian Vettel "P1"
"A fantastic race, a fantastic weekend with the pole and a strategy as well as fantastic this afternoon. As for the podium ceremony is incredible and this is the best day of my life.
Never forget these sentiments. It is so incredible. It's better than I had ever expected. Thank you to everyone in the team for their hard work. After a bad start this season, has become better and better. Perhaps under current conditions, could close the gap with a little more effort or hit the accelerator a little more. I am speechless. As for the race, we were very fast in a straight line because we were going with a high-speed downforce because we thought it could be dry and remained dry. Being at the helm, without problems of visibility is the key and I could build a strong difference with Heikki immediately. So I was pushing very hard, perhaps going beyond the limit at times and I have almost lost the car. In the last part I was in a good position with intermediate tyres. I could not believe it when they kept saying "P1" in my marker. But I kept focused and have continued pushing so as not to lose concentration. A perfect weekend. "

Sebastien Bourdais (STR3-04)
Pos. 18th
"I'm not sure what happened in the grill. When I tried to put first and I could not have draught, he lost a return immediately after the race started behind the safety car. It must have been a dream weekend with a chance to finish first and third, but unfortunately for me, has been first and nothing. However, this has been a great day for Sebastian and the team. "

Franz Tost: "This was the weekend of Vettel. From Friday onwards, he has controlled the pace and the situation until today, from start to finish, drove a fantastic race without mistakes in very difficult circumstances. I think that showed today that he will become a very successful pilot of Formula 1. It is unfortunate for Bourdais who has had a problem on the grid, because he also had a good weekend until today. The team, headed by Giorgio Ascanell also did a good job in terms of preparing for the race and how they implemented the strategy and pit stops and we can all be proud of what we have achieved. It's great to get this result here at Monza in our home Grand Prix and I am particularly happy about that Gerhard had waited twenty years to return to the podium as winner of Monza. "

Toro Rosso

Toro Rosso is now a team to take serious consideration. It took a while saying this, but Sebastian Vettel will be pulling the hair to be seen as the next season will have to jump to a car that always lags behind their own. And rumors that Red Bull said they would stay with Ferrari engines from its little sister, nothing at all. Franz Tost confirmed the other day that Ferrari would continue supplying engines to Toro Rosso, and that is something that should change many things from now on.

To begin with, that point to Toro Rosso as the only hole (or holes, depending on the future of Bourdais) possible to enter Formula 1 has to take with tweezers. Those rumors saying that Takuma Sato could end up in the Italian team with Honda engines under his arm is right now, to make a guasa. Well, that sounded the last, pointing to send me that the "business" attempt to hollow out as Giorgio Pantano in Toro Rosso, also deserves appreciation. What we think is worth a seat at Toro Rosso?

Since yesterday, Toro Rosso is one of the few cars capable of winning a race this season. And furthermore, have put both cars in Q3 in the last three Grand Prizes. Already it is no coincidence or surprise. We are talking about a car that, as seems to continue with Ferrari engines pata negra, can be very tempting to ruffle several good pilots. Because what if pilots Fernando Alonso ended Ferrari engine in Toro Rosso? It has not yet left the rumor, but time to time…

McFadden leads the Raiders to their first triumph
The novice Darren McFadden began to build his career with a performance that should enthusiastically to fans of the Raiders.

Mcfadden ran for 164 yards and a touchdown to lead Oakland to its first win of the season, 23-8 over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The pateador Sebastian Janikowski kicked three field goals, including one from 56 yards for Oakland, which won only its fifth victory in 18 games under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Michael Bush also ran well for the Raiders, with 90 of the 300 yards accumulated by the team silver and black by land. The Chiefs lost their second consecutive game, this time using three quarterbacks.

The raiders won the match 16-0 before Tyler Thigpen closer to the Chiefs with a touchdown pass for two yards, converting more sos points put the game 16-8 lacking 4:04 minutes. Then, Bush released the ball and Bernard Pollard recovered at the 36 yard Kansas City, but an interception by Kirk Morrison pass to Thigpen.

McFadden, the fourth overall selection last draft, exploded with a run of 50 yards and later scored on breakaway from 19 yards.

In Minneapolis, Peyton Manning emerged at the time that it most needed the Indianapolis Colts to overcome a handicap of 0-15 and achieve victory over the Minnesota Vikings by 18-15. Manning refined his arm in the fourth period and pateador Adam Vinatieri made good a field goal from 47 yards with three seconds to conclude the match that decided the triumph of the Colts.

The quarter ended with Justin Fargas stopped for no gain. – A 2-yard first down run on third-and-1 by Michael Pittman was challenged by the Raiders, who had a good case that Jay Richardson had made the stop before the first down marker.

The Broncos are leading 7-0 and if the Raiders fall further behind, Russell may be forced to throw the ball more than he was expected to, despite the presence of Darren McFadden, Justin Fargas and Michael Bush in Oakland's backfield.

Justin Fargas was supposedly the starting running and was set to then split carries with the dynamic rookie, McFadden. But Darren McFadden got the ball on the very first Raiders offensive play and took it 8 yards with power.

Darren McFadden makes his NFL debut, and will split carries with Justin Fargas. Former Bronco Ashley Lelie signed with the Raiders this week and is expected to play tonight, while Javon Walker may miss the game due to a sore hamstring.

Justin Fargas had 146 yards. Both teams will be looking for improved play out of their quarterbacks this season. Denver’s Jay Cutler was up and down last season, throwing for 20 touchdowns but also throwing 14 interceptions.

McNabb turned in its best way to renew hopes for his team

McNabb turned in its best way to renew hopes for his team

McNabb threw passes valid for 361 yards and three touchdowns, the novice Des Jackson had a stunning debut, and the Philadelphia Eagles to vapulearon St. Louis Rams 38-3 on Sunday.

McNabb had branded 21-by-33, including a touchdown pass of 90 yards to Hank Baskett. Jackson, the first recipient of the Eagles in novice they hold in the first game of the season in the past 18 years, he recorded six trapped for 106 yards and returned a kick from 60 yards so leave everything ready for a field goal .

Coming from his second final in last place in the table in the three previous years, the Eagles played like a team that hopes to reach the championship fight. The offensive accumulated a total of 522 yards and the defense was dominant.

The Rams, with a 3-13 mark last season, just played dreadfully again. Marc Bulger barely had time to launch, and Steven Jackson had almost no space to run between the strong defence of Philadelphia. St. Louis had accumulated a total of 109 yards in the first three quarters.

McNabb, Pro Bowl five times, began this season with better health which has taken in recent years. McNabb ripped through the second line of the Rams, their scattered gunfire at a group of receivers that did not seem surprising to their owners injured as Kevin Curtis (hernia) and Reggie Brown (tendon of the buttocks).

Greg Lewis made five receptions into 104 yards, Baskett caught two passes for 102 yards and accumulate each of the four receivers made a greater trapped at 30 yards. McNabb also threw touchdown passes of 5 yards to LJ Smith and 1 yard to Brian Westbrook.

McNabb has not played in a season without injury since leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl in 2004. We lost the last 5 games of 2005 because of a hernia and also played the last six games of 2006 by an injury to his knee. McNabb started slow last season after returning quickly after surgery to repair a torn ligament in his knee. But ended with force after injuries in the ankles and a thumb that cost him two games in late season.

From the very beginning was the best of yesteryear McNabb in action, albeit without many disputes. It had a lot of strength in their passes and threw a pinpoint accuracy. McNabb found Jackson for a 47-yard pass right on the line in the second game off the line. Jackson was perfectly covered by Tye Hill, but managed to make a leap in trapped in 33 of the Rams. A penalty for rough play in the lateral line from St. Louis led the ovoid to 18. Three plays later, Westbrook scored after a pass to put his team ahead by 7-0.

McNabb connected with a 31-yard Jason Avant discovered in the yard of St. 31. Louis at third and 12 to keep the attack alive. Smith caught his touchdown pass in the back of the end zone to put things 14-0.

Locked in his own 8 yard with less than two minutes on the clock in the first half, the Eagles seemed content to make the clock run when Westbrook ran twice to record only two yards. Then, McNabb found Baskett left in running for a third down. Baskett caught the ovoid in the race near the 40 and continued without being touched the rest of the stretch to put the scoreboard at 21-0.

The Rams failed to spend half the pitch until the end of the second quarter. Even in this move does not look good. Jackson received a tremendous blow by Sheldon Brown after a trapped for 24 yards in 47 of the Eagles. Brown brought him to Jackson hull of a blow to the head, but Jackson got up right away shaking his Jamaican braids to prove that he was fine.

Favre showed that his arm is still intact at Miami

Favre showed that his arm is still intact at Miami
Brett Favre transformed into a catch a touchdown in his debut with the New York Jets, who had to suffer more from the account to defeat the Miami Dolphins in Florida

Brett Favre seemed not far from a retired marshal, raised his arms to celebrate a touchdown, and then jumped on two companions while en route to the side.

Six months after that Favre decided to withdraw before changing his mind, had a successful debut with his new team, fired two touchdowns and helped the New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 20-14 on Sunday.

The new beginning of Favre had a happy ending thanks to two good moves from the Jets on the final, as the Dolphins took a couple of opportunities to go to the front on the final.

Favre completed 15 of 22 passes for 194 yards and got their victory number 161, thereby extending his NFL record among marshals holders of the league this year.

For the Dolphins, the defeat marked a disappointing start to the era of Bill Parcells, and at times brought painful memories of the 1-15 season in 2007.

Parcells came to the Dolphins in December, but despite renovate more than half of the campus and recruit the chief coach Tony Sparano, Miami allowed too many major moves.

The Dolphins were successful in a fourth attempt and seven yards to go during the series of seven plays and 53 yards that ended with a touchdown, Pennington David Martin, who put the tanteador 20-14 in favor of the Jets with 3:27 to play.

New York kept the ball over land and was forced to clear the ball after three plays. The Dolphins then hilvanar a couple of good plays, and arrived in the yard of the Jets 18, but Darrell Reviewed intercepted the pass intended for Ted Ginn Jr.. when five seconds remaining in the end zone.

It was the fifth consecutive victory over the Jets in the AFC East rivals.

Pennington played for the team that left him free to make a place for Favre, and did not start well but then ended up completing 26 of 43 passes for 251 yards.

Three times the clock was about to expire and Pennington was forced to call time outs that had been valued on the end.

The left tackle from Miami, Jake Long, the first selection of the draft in general, did not have a good game and it took a couple of penalties.

The new wing of the Dolphins defensive Randy Stara, Favre was unable to tackle when he was in his arms, and veteran Marshal became a catch into a touchdown on a fourth attempt and 13 yards to go, the Jets could not kick the goal field due to injury by Mike Nugent.

The Jets expect Favre can transform a team that finished with a record of 4-12 last year, a contestant, and not much time it took to cause an impact.

In the first game of the second possession of the Jets, was connected with Jerricho Cotchery for a touchdown from 56 yards. On the other side of the field, Favre celebrated as a novice.

There were some abucheos for Pennington, when Miami became just a first attempt in the first three rounds. But then improved on the end, especially when connected several times with the wing closed Sal Fasano, who had a good game.

The runner Ricky Williams finished with 24 yards on 10 cartage, for an offensive that showed little life in this first game.
