The actor and former senator Fred Thompson today unveiled the attacks on the Democrat candidate, Barack Obama, on the second day of the Republican Party convention in Saint Paul.
Thompson, famous for its interventions in series like "Law and Order", used his irony to criticize known on numerous occasions to Obama. While not mentioned by name any time, the references were obvious.
The eloquence of known Democrat candidate was cause for mockery for Thompson. "While some talk of reform, John McCain led efforts to achieve reforms," he said at one point.
"The respect that (McCain) gets around the world is not a speech designed to draw the attention of critics in the United States abroad," said another.
The former senator, who was during a short time was also a candidate who won the Republican nomination McCain, also ironic comments on the theme of the Obama campaign ( "Change in which you can believe") to describe the independence of the Republican candidate, newcomer to Congress voted against his idol, the then president Ronald Reagan.
"My friends, this is a matter in which you can believe," he said between laughs from the audience.
